After a long period of gap was in theatres to see a movie because of the childhood fascination of watching this दोहा getting inacted on 70mm silver screen,alas , was not to happen here. As this writer had some other interpretation to script.
This movie is about one of India's legendary kings Prithviraj Chouhan. As its one of the few interpretation of history so no focusing on it. This movie has a big canvas and very scenicly portrayed with camera work. Movie portrays the period perfectly.
Of the cast was disappointed. AKSHAY KUMAR does the heavy loading but the valour which we saw in kesari is missing, the strength , rajwada style and boldness in body language is not to be found , may as he is trying too hard. Manushi chillar in her 1st role looks like a princess, the charm , cuteness also the toughness of a rajwadi is on full display. Manav vij as ghori is good but doesnot look like a worthy opponent to the main protagonist. SONU SOOD is amazingly satisfying. He as chand bardai is so relatively portrait that he charms the screen at every screen presence. Sanjay dutt has minimal to show in script. So has ashutosh rana and sakshi tanwar , I was amused why was sakshi not prepared as a rajputani , if n when u watch the movie u will feel it.
Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi i liked very much because of chanakya tv series which i liked a lot. But time has passed and he is stuck in the same style. The punch of rajputana is missing, so are dialogues. Few of the song choices too wr odd. Like the a dance before Johar was looking awkward or the dance of raja rani on sand ... looks out of place. Except harihar no other song touches the chord.
This movie is a decent 1 time watch in the theater because of the canvas. Nice movie but i was for a cult movie with such a heroically huge character of Prithviraj Chouhan. Also has historical movies like Padmawat, Bajirao, Jodha Akbar in hindsight.
